My Older Son
Jason's curious habit of referring to his firstborn, Alston, only as 'my older son' — while name-dropping younger brother Griffin constantly.
A running bit born from a genuine pattern: Jason mentions his younger son Griffin by name all the time, but for ages only ever referred to his firstborn as “my older son.” On the sports-injuries episode it finally got called out — “I was told that I never say Alston’s name on this podcast… I always call my older son.” Kathy set the record straight: “Alston, his name’s Alston. Alston Young.”
Alston is also the subject of the torn-ACL episode (reconstruction at 16), and his recovery gets check-ins on later shows — Jason, by his own admission, tearing up through the proud-dad moments.
