Jason Young's allegiance to Oregon State University, which comes up unprompted in approximately every third episode and shapes more sports conversation than the topics technically warrant.
Jason Young has been a Corvallis resident for approximately 37 to 38 years, went to Corvallis High School (Go Spartans), coaches basketball there, and is a committed Oregon State University Beavers fan. He works with the OSU athletic department doing chiropractic and massage. He also knows Dr. Liam Vu from OSU. He has named Jack Coletto, Sydney Wiese, and Brandon Cooks as his top three Beaver athletes of all time.
The Oregon Ducks are referred to in one episode as “a smaller program that’s down south.” Raul, the podcast engineer, attended Oregon. His employment status has been repeatedly questioned.
The Beavers’ sports results have been referenced mid-episode more times than is strictly necessary for a health and wellness podcast. Neither Jason nor Kathy has offered any indication that they find this excessive. The March Madness bracket discussion in episode 50 went on for over four minutes without anyone mentioning exercise snacks.
