The Theme Song Debacle

Spotify yanked episodes over an unlicensed theme track — so Jason started improvising his own theme song on the spot.

Early in the show’s life, Spotify pulled episodes from the feed, citing a licensing problem: PTCH didn’t have the rights to the theme music it was using.

Jason’s fix was characteristically low-budget and high-confidence: rather than wait around for a cleared track, he just improvised a theme song himself — live, off the cuff — for several episodes. No license required when you’re the composer.

It’s peak PTCH: a real, annoying logistics problem (a platform takedown) solved with a shrug, a melody made up on the spot, and the willingness to look a little ridiculous on the way to fixing it.
